Variational tight-binding method for simulating large superconducting circuits

چکیده

We generalize solid-state tight-binding techniques for the spectral analysis of large superconducting circuits. find that states can be better suited approximating low-energy excitations than charge basis states, as illustrated interesting example current-mirror circuit. The use tight binding dramatically lower Hilbert-space dimension required convergence to true spectrum, and allows accurate simulation larger circuits are out reach diagonalization.

Hartley Series Direct Method for Variational Problems

The computational method based on using the operational matrix of anorthogonal function for solving variational problems is computeroriented. In this approach, a truncated Hartley series together withthe operational matrix of integration and integration of the crossproduct of two cas vectors are used for finding the solution ofvariational problems. Two illustrative...

Superconducting circuits for quantum computing

Superconducting circuits provide one of the numerous current candidate routes for the realization of quantum computing (QC) technology. In this paper I review the basic physics behind this candidature and outline some superconducting QC proposals currently on the table, demonstrating their common origins. More detailed discussion of the proposals follows, assessing how they measure up to the \D...

Development of Problem Solving Environment for Large Scale Electronic Structure Calculations Based on Tight Binding Method

In this paper, we present a problem solving environment (PSE) for the large scale electronic structure calculations based on the O(N) tight binding method. We have developed a simulator named Fujitsu Tight binding Simulator (FuTiS). By implementing the O(N) method on parallel computers and introducing a common interface, we can perform the electronic structure simulations involving more than a ...

SADDLE POINT VARIATIONAL METHOD FOR DIRAC CONFINEMENT

A saddle point variational (SPV ) method was applied to the Dirac equation as an example of a fully relativistic equation with both negative and positive energy solutions. The effect of the negative energy states was mitigated by maximizing the energy with respect to a relevant parameter while at the same time minimizing it with respect to another parameter in the wave function. The Cornell pot...

Modified Group Projectors: Tight Binding Method

Modified group projector technique for induced representations is a powerful tool for calculation and symmetry quantum numbers assignation of a tight binding Hamiltonian energy bands of crystals. Namely, the induced type structure of such a Hamiltonian enables efficient application of the procedure: only the interior representations of the orbit stabilizers are to be considered. Then the genera...
